24hrs of an OSTAR start
*Post by Hamish* Time is a strange thing, knowing only a week has gone by yet so much has happened in that time seems almost unreal. Having read so many of the blogs from all the brave sailors out there on the official race blog site and what they’ve encountered is truly incredible stuff! I have, at last, posted images from the start last Monday on my website’s blog page. Although following Hannah out I did try to snag a few of other competitors, unfortunately due to the sheer mass of supporters and support craft - often getting in the way of a clean shot - I was not able to get decent ones of the majority of all other sailors, sorry! I have split the last 24hrs [Hannah] spent in Plymouth into two sections, Sunday evening’s pre-race drinks (where many OSTAR sailors turned up to share a glass I might add!) and Monday morning/noon’s Race start. Seems a far cry from all their descriptions and current experiences!
cheers
Hamish

Hi Hannah,
I have only just found this as a place to send a message! I hope you are feeling stronger by the day, just focus on the feeling you will have when you complete the race. Everything you are dealing with just makes the achievement so much better!
I have been rowing hard and playing cricket in Belgium since we spoke but it seems a bit tame compared to your adventure, i am envious! Keep smiling and fight off those demons, good luck. I am quite sure that all the people who matter to you feel proud of you, so let that make you tougher!
